PAYMENT & REFUND POLICIES

Members remain responsible for ensuring invoices are paid by the due date. Failure to pay an invoice, including when an Auto Pay payment fails or was not properly enrolled, may result in late fees, suspension, reinstatement fees and/or termination of services. This page provides important information about our payment, billing and refund policies. Scroll down to review each of the sections outlined below.

Checks

As of April 2023, split payments and paper checks under $2,500 are no longer accepted. Per our Payment Policies, you can pay online via credit card or electronic check through your member portal.

 Auto Pay

  • Auto Pay enrollment is assigned separately for each membership type (REALTOR® Dues, MLS, and SentriKey). Enrollment for one membership type does not automatically enroll other memberships.
  • Auto Pay must be enabled before an invoice is generated to automatically process payment. Enabling Auto Pay after invoice generation and/or after you’ve received an invoice will not pay an existing balance.
  • Review your invoice email to confirm Auto Pay is scheduled. If Auto Pay is active for the invoice, Auto Pay will be noted in the email. If Auto Pay is not mentioned, payment must be made manually through the member portal.
  • If an Auto Pay payment fails, you will continue to receive payment reminder emails. Failed Auto Pay payments and unpaid invoices are subject to applicable late and reinstatement fees and suspension of services.

Payment of Dues, Policies of Spokane REALTORS®

Dues for all members shall be payable annually in advance on the 1st day of January of each calendar year.  The Board of Directors may, in its discretion, establish discounts for prepayment of dues, and establish fees for payment of dues by credit card.

In January of each calendar year each Designated REALTOR® shall file with the Board of Directors a list of all licensees employed by or affiliated as independent contractors with such Designated REALTOR® and indicate thereon those of such licensees, if any, who are “non-member licensees” as such term is defined in the Bylaws. Such list shall be submitted to the Association with the dues payment of each Designated REALTOR®.

If a Designated REALTOR® shall thereafter employ or affiliate with a licensee who is not a member, the Designated REALTOR® shall notify the Association thereof and such notice shall include the name of such licensee and the date of such employment or affiliation.  Such notice shall be given within thirty (30) days following such employment of affiliation.

If a Designated REALTOR® shall employ or affiliate with any licensee who is not a member or with any licensee whose membership is terminated for any reason, including nonpayment of dues, the dues of the Designated REALTOR® for the calendar year in which such event occurs shall be increased on a pro rata basis for the remainder of such calendar year in order to reflect the additional dues payable by the Designated REALTOR® as a result thereof.  Such additional dues shall be payable within thirty (30) days following the event resulting in such an increase in the dues payable by the Designated REALTOR®.

Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, there shall be no increase in the dues payable by a Designated REALTOR® as the result of employment or affiliation with a licensee who is not a member if such licensee shall apply for membership and pay the dues required in connection therewith within five (5) days following such employment or affiliation or, in the case of termination of membership of such licensee, if the Designated REALTOR® shall terminate such employment or affiliate within five (5) days following such termination of membership.  All dues shall be non-refundable.

REALTOR® Dues Explanation

Compliance with the Tax Reform Act of 1993, as amended by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, requires that the portion of dues attributable to lobbying and political activities at the Local, State and Federal levels of government be considered nondeductible for income tax purposes.

$118.00 of your Washington Realtors dues and $55.00 of your National Association of Realtors dues are not deductible for federal income tax purposes.

$35.00 of your Washington State dues will be deposited into the Washington REALTOR Political Action Committee (Washington State RPAC) as a contribution on your behalf. If you would prefer that the $35 go to issue advocacy purposes instead you may send us an email at issuesfund@warealtor.org and the required $35.00 will be directed to our non-PAC state issues fund.

Investments are not deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. Investments to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to invest without reprisal. Until the NAR Fair Share goal is met, 70% of each investment is retained by the Washington Realtor PAC to support state and local political candidates, and the balance is sent to National RPAC to support Federal candidates. National’s portion is charged against your limits under 2 U. S. C 441. After the Fair Share goal is met, 100% of your investment is retained by the Washington Realtor PAC to support state and local political candidates.

Spokane REALTORS® membership dues are billed annually and are separate from the Quarterly MLS and SentriKey fees. Failure to pay annual REALTOR® dues by the applicable due date may result in late fees, suspension of membership benefits and services, reinstatement fees, and/or termination of membership. REALTOR® dues are subject to the applicable policies and dues schedules in effect at the time of billing.

MLS Fees, SentriKey Fees and Subscription Quarters

Failure to pay MLS and/or SentriKey fees by the applicable due date may result in late fees, suspension of services, reinstatement fees and/or termination of access. MLS and SentriKey fees are subject to the applicable policies and fee schedules in effect at the time of billing.
